Without knowing when to workout, you’re running workouts aren’t going to do anything for you in the long run. The best method to use each of your workouts properly is by using a proven program by a running authority which will almost guarantee success.
The reason why you need to chose a program is because once you have chosen a program from one of the resources below, you are committing yourself to a that program and have no excuses in terms of how you need to train.
Before choosing a marathon training schedule, make sure you take into consideration your experience level as a runner. You don’t want to choose a program that your body isn’t capable on handling. Choosing advanced running workouts when you are a novice runner, you are going to screw up your body by training it far too hard.
Below are resources where you can find the right marathon training program for you to use your running workouts in the best manner:

There are many programs out there but these two are some of the main resources. If you used any other marathon training programs, let me know and I’ll add it to this list.
PS: What have been your experiences with any of these marathon training schedules?
